If you are still putting sauces into the shopping trolley, then Cookidoo® is your answer to easily making them yourself, saving money and removing additive's. Many of these recipes are as simple as adding all ingredients and walking away while the Thermomix cooks for you.

Here are my Tips to make, store and use these amazing sauces....

Tip #1 - Plan ahead to make these sauces

Planning is the step that can make or break a smooth week in my home. When I am not organised, the wheels start falling off and shortcuts are made. When I can spend just a small amount of time on Sunday using Cookidoo® plan out the week ahead, get the sauces made if they are needed (or if they have run out), then this makes a massive difference to the week ahead.

Tip #2 - Store well your Thermomix sauces

The tips to keep sauces as long as possible is to start with a clean (potentially sterilised) bottle or jar. Today's dishwashers do a fantastic job at sterilising and often once through, are ready to use. In our home, sauces are often used quickly so I can't bother putting dates on things, however if you are worried, place the date on the top if storing in the fridge so you can check that it is still safe to consume. So many of these sauces will loose quality (eg - separate) but will be fine in the fridge, however freezing will always increase the length they will keep. Anything with Protein (meat or eggs) or Dairy will expire significantly faster and need to be used within a few days.

Salt and sugar are the most historic preservatives for food. These two have been around since ancient times to preserve our food

Tip #3 - How to use your amazing Sauces

Some of these sauces make the most amazing gifts. There is nothing better then some home made Chocolate Sauce, Peanut Butter Sauce, Coffee Syrup, or Sweet Chilli sauce to go in a hamper for a friend or loved one. The most common savoury sauces you will find on rotation on my Cookidoo® as they are used so frequently in our home is the Tomato, BBQ, Teriyaki & Sweet Chilli sauces. As for sweet, we always have Caramel, Chocolate and Coffee Syrups in the fridge. All the other sauces, we make as we need to when we have a meal they accompany well. If you have not yet given these a go, now is the time.
