A Day of Play at Airlie Beach

Updated: Feb 14, 2023

If you ever visit #Airliebeach, there are some must-do's we can recommend. Today we had a super early start as Greg was running in the Airlie Beach 10km run. This gave us a great opportunity to go explore the Airlie suburbs while we waited for him to finish (proud wife moment - he came in 7th nearly achieving his Personal Best time 46.40mins- he will kill me for putting this in writing however I don't think he reads these so I might get away with it...lol)

After taking him back to freshen up, we headed out to #CedarCreekFalls. It is about a 30minute drive from Airlie Beach on fully sealed roads, with only a small easy walk down to the waterfall base. You could easily take small children along and they would walk down and back easily. Last year when we were here there was no flowing water, however this year it was tricking down. There were 3 brave people swimming, but the water was freezing cold so there was no way we were swimming.

We then headed out to #ShuteHarbour. Last year when we were there, they had just started construction on a new harbour and the boys were keen to see the progress. Another few months & they look like they'll be done.

Between outings today I made a 1 litre batch of #Thermomix Béchamel Sauce because the milk needed using. This is going to be used for Pastitsio & Vegetarian Lasagne over the coming nights. Come see how easy Béchamel is in the Thermomix in the video below. For dinner I made the Okonomiyaki from the New Collection on Cookidoo. This Japanese Cabbage Pancake was amazing and we used Gluten Free Flour which kept everyone happy. I will do a video at a later date and show you how easy it is, however put it on your list & make the sauce as well, as it was delicious. See you tomorrow when we visit the Big Mango ~Lisa Keegan~
